And so here we are
again, at the end of another rmonth, and with a new Top 5, inspired by every
music nerds favourite movie, “High Fidelity”. If you’re reading, and haven’t
watched it, do yourself a favour a give it a go, it’s worth it! (Plus I made a
review of it a couple of months ago on this same blog.)
This month, I begin with “The Dwelll” by Gaahls Wyrd, an amazing track with a dark and aggressive mood that delivers a light at the end of the tunnel, and much needed respite. It’s followed by Solstafir’s “Sifur Refur”, the opening track of their incredible Berdreminn; the album I’ve listen to the most since it was gifted to me a few years ago. It’s both melancholic and powerful.
“Home Sweet Home” is the Lindemann song I’ve listened to the most since acquiring their Live in Moscow album. The video of the performance is the most sober of this live set, since the subject of the song is the illness and death by cancer of Till Lindemann’s father. A moving song that deserves being given a chance.
“Mein Land” is a very funny and ironic song by Rammstein, and its video, unlike most in their videography is one that most likely won’t give you nightmares. It’s exclusive to their greatest hits compilation, and like most singles by this band, it’s worth listening to.
At the end of the playlist is “Fight Music” by D12, Eminem’s hip-hop collective that released two amazing albums: Devil’s Night in 2001 and D12 World in 2004. Although I’ve only listened to the later in full, this song is from the first one, an incredibly angry song that is a great testimony to Eminem and Proof’s skills as rappers.
Like last month I leave here the link to the playlist, have a listen!
